New Tech Institute
The New Tech Institute is a small school campus of 300 students focusing on STEM education and entrepreneurial leadership with a culture based on trust, respect, and responsibility. The primary instructional practice is project based learning with an emphasis on 21st century skills. Students learn content by solving authentic, real world problems and projects while working in collaborative groups in a one to one technology environment.
Innovation & Entrepreneurial Leadership
The New Tech Institute (NTI) is a full service public high school made possible by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation that focuses on STEM education (Science Technology Engineering and Math) and Entrepreneurial Leadership. After opening its doors in 2010, New Tech will celebrate its first graduating class in 2014. After four years at NTI, students will learn that learning has little to do with school, but it has a lot to do with experience. In our current technological age, education has yet to leverage the vast resources that can create opportunities for students to experience learning, not just regurgitate it. When we say “textbook free,” we mean thinking deeper than what is on page 231. When we say “collaborative learning,” we mean engaging conflict in a healthy way to create something better than our own gifts could produce. When we say “trust, respect, and responsibility…,” we mean it.
