8th Grade Information

Dear Parent/Guardian of Eighth Grade Student:

The following events have been scheduled at Thompkins for our eighth grade activities:

Eighth Grade Photo    Friday, May 10, 8:00 a.m.    Large Gym

Dance                        Friday, May 17, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Courtyard/Small Gym

Honors Assembly        Tuesday, May 21, 1:15 p.m.     Large Gym

Recognition Day         Wednesday, May 22, 11:30 a.m.Large Gym     

To be eligible to attend the Class Dance, students must have met the criteria of the Thompkins’ Discipline Policy.

We have had some questions regarding proper attire for Recognition Day.  We suggest that students dress as if they were going to a nice restaurant, attending a church service, or dressing up for school pictures.  The following guidelines may be helpful:

Middle School Dress

Pants:

Type: uniform style

Colors: khaki, navy

Shorts, Capris

Type: uniform style, knee length

Colors: khaki, navy

Skirts:

Type: uniform style, knee length

Colors: khaki, navy

Shirts:

Type: collared polo shirt, plain long sleeve T shirt under polo acceptable

Colors: any solid color

Logo: small logo acceptable (under 2 inches)

Cool-weather items:

Type: hoodless sweater, vest, or cardigan worn with a collared polo underneath

Colors: any solid color

Logo: small logo acceptable (up to 2 inches)

Belt: worn with pants that have loops, solid brown or black

Footwear: any closed toe and closed back (does not include house shoes)
