Spring 2013
Greetings Everyone,
Hopefully, we won’t have to endure cold weather much longer. It has been a fairly quiet winter for us and before you know it, school will be out for the summer. I would like to remind you of a couple of great things that we have going on in the building.
We will be going to a “Block” schedule for next year. As soon as the full details are ironed out we will be sharing that information with you and your child. Currently, 3 of the 5 public schools in EVSC are on block. The decision to move to a block is determined by the majority of faculty members through a voting process.
We also currently have a “Free” Tax Service on Thursday evenings in the school’s cafeteria from 6-8 p.m. It may be of some benefit to some of you, so please take advantage of it. We are closing in on the end of another 9 week grading period. I encourage you to speak with you student about how he/she is progressing in his/her classes. For those students who might be struggling with certain classes, we still are offering free tutoring services twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays right after school.
Bosse District schools continue to work together in support of each other to provide the things necessary for your child to be successful. We will have our big District Art Show on Thursday, February 28 from 6-8 at Bosse High School. We encourage all of you to come out and see the great artistic talents of our students.
Of course, the big events coming up this semester are Junior/Senior Prom and Graduation. As you can imagine, if you are a parent of a young lady, there’s a great deal of planning going into what to wear to prom, etc. and if you are a parent of a senior, there are so many things to prepare for. Mrs. Preston is the contact for senior information. Our graduation is scheduled for Saturday, May 25th at 5:30, here at Enlow Field. Last year’s ceremony on our own home field was very special and I anticipate that this year’s will be also.
I am again asking for your assistance in reminding students of the “Dress for Success” program initiated at all high schools this year. Any support that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
As always, if there is anything that I can do in support of your child while here at Bosse, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
*Just a reminder to please fill out the EVSC Parent Survey. It can be done online or via hard copy. The window closes on February 28.
Respectfully,
Sheila L. Huff, Principal
